I usually respond to 1. d4 with ...Nf6. When my opponent continues with 2. c4 and enters the Queen’s Gambit, I often choose the Benko Gambit. To be honest, I have never memorized Benko Gambit lines. I only know the general concepts and ideas. Maybe that is why my results with the Benko Gambit have actually been quite good. Still, I do not get many chances to play it, and this time I overlooked a very simple tactic.
